Does anyone know who Maggie Rosenberg and Trevor Hagstrom are? They have been writing quite a number of new reviews for the one part of the website that doesn’t seem to have been f****d. How were they chosen? Did Michael Stern have any say in the matter? What are their credentials?

Doing a web search, I found this which tells who they are:
I heard Maggie is really wandering Jew.
So, the new owners of this website have hired that company to do “reviews.” That might explain the “Advertisement” shown with them.

Wow. Who’s familiar with the German word, Backpfeifengesicht?
This reminds me of the point in The Christmas Story when Ralphie finally decrypted Little Orphan Annies secret code. SON OF A BITCH!! A crummy commercial?
I’m looking at one of their reviews. The top of the page has “advertisement” in small print immediately followed by an actual ad for Country Crock. I believe that is the “advertisement” not the review itself. All the reviews, even by the Sterns say “advertisement” at the top of the page.
Really Abe, someone deserves to be punched in the face? Over Roadfood reviews?
I took the reference as being to a figurative slap in the face to the non-professionals that helped shape Roadfood into what it once was.
Also, since Abe is from Chicago I doubt a punch in the face would be the solution of choice. Now being found shot to death in the trunk of a Cadillac parked at a Red Lobster, OTOH….
“figurative slap in the face…”
That makes better sense. The German word from what I read is more particularly a fist punch in the face; beyond a mere slap. But then I don’t know much German.

The word was not there before the new folks took over. Oh, and I find no advertisements following the word “Advertisement” on any of the “reviews.”
Do you have an ad blocker on? Because under “advertisement” on the Duly’s Place review I’m seeing an ad for Uber Eats.
There’s one for Samsung on the Price Hill Chili review. On the Fatso’s Last Stand review, there’s one for Avana – whatever that is.
I enjoy Trevor and Maggie’s reviews. Michael and Jane can’t do them all by themselves.
We’ve been to about 30 places that Maggie & Trevor have reviewed, which has been enough to convince us they know what they are doing. There have been a small handful that we didn’t necessarily care for (which is par for the course), but many, many more that we have really enjoyed.

High praise indeed!
