I of course have a concession trailer but I have to keep everything from freezing overnight. Here is the weather forecast for tonight Very cold. Mostly cloudy. A 50 percent chance of snow in the evening. Lows around 1. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph.

I just bought a Mr.Heater Propane Heater Tough Buddy 18K BTU. By the way EBay runs these on line for about one half of what I paid for mine at Lowes.

But it’s awesome and when we go in to open in the morning it’s 79 or 80 degrees in my trailer. I hate cold weather or being cold but now I’m down to a T-Shirt during working hours. I love it.The floor below my anti-fatigue mats is very very cold but the rest of the trailer thinks it’s August. LOL

PS I hooked my propane heater to a 40 lb tank so if it doesn’t run out of fuel until Friday it’ll cost me about $39.00 a week to have the luxury of a nice well heated working environment.To me it’s well worth the money, and an excellant product.

Eddy’s right about getting a dual head propane "campfire". You can point one head at you and one at your customers (they will really appreciate the extra consideration). But there is a fine line between good reliable customer service and being plain stupid. I usually make a cut off at about freezing. But that comes after some experience. Not too many people want to come outside and eat when it’s too chilly around here. Check it out, if it doesn’t seem worth it to be out when it’s that cold, well then you’ll know. Good luck.

polypropylene thermal undies. These cost around 20 bucks for a pair or one top shirt. I bought mine from the good ol’ Army Navy Surplus store in my area (what a great store, I could spend the whole day there) Under Armor is a great brand if you want to pay 80 bucks for long johns. I received a top for Xmas and it is really snug, thin, crazy warm.

Also, A long down coat. not a trench coat, just something to cover your behind. Also, invest in a outdoor propane heater. I have a single head Mr Heater unit that fits on a propane tank, it costs around 40 bucks. If I was gonna do it again, I would have paid the eighty for the dual head burner. Use the thermal hand heaters, and sell hot chocolate. (Shnapps for an extra 3 bucks, I’m sure the bar won’t mind lol)

I cant imagine being out at nites right now. I didn’t go out ystday. (25 and under) i don’t go out. today i went out and it was what in the thirties and it was NOT worth it. I am trying to at least make the effort and hang in for a few hrs. on days like this so it shows i am serious but DAMN days like this make it TOUGH. I gotta give props to you Rick I would be in my bed and in my jammmies boy. [;)][;)][;)]

Layers and 8 hour 99 cent heat pads. WOw. I’d make a full outfit out of them. Or reassess how many customers you are likely to get in such weather. Is it worth it? Bar scene will be running for cover not hanging around after closing.
