We currently are using Pepsi here at my job in Myrtle Beach.
We are switching to Coke, as there is an $11.00 difference in their pricing, with Coke being lower, obviously.
Their cartons are also easier to hook up and their racks and holders are also much nicer.
I will check the quantity of each box and report back Tuesday..
I now am curious.
Maybe he isnt getting such a deal as he thinks he is.. He is much smarter than that.
We have a place in Chamberlain- near New harbor- where pepsi also dominates- all the way north along the coast to Bar Harbor- we found a place in Belfast that serves Coke-local place near the harbor- We think its a money thing- Mainers are frugal- and Pepsi is more cost competitive than Coke. can restaraunt pro’s confirm this theory?
Holiday Inn-West in Portland serves Coke….
A couple places in Yarmouth, and Freeport that I used to go to served Pepsi..
He says he’s pretty sure it’s because Pepsi provides a superior level of service than that of Coke, but he’s going to ask his boss just to be sure. He, like you and I, is a Coke person, and wishes the restaurant dispensed it.
it is amazing that in this national market, there are pockets of brand loyality all over the country.
Like around Hotlanta – Coke has a strangle hold.
The Gulf Coast of Florida – is Pepsi country.
I know coke has been going after major college campuses all over the place and hotel chains too.
I am a pepsi person, I love staying at marriotts and eating at Yum Brand fastfood place when I have to, cause most of them are pepsi.
Thanks enginecapt, I’ll be very interested in the reply
A friend of mine works in a restaurant in Boothbay. I’ll ask him if the monopoly is a local preference thing, statewide, or good sales tactics on the part of Pepsi.
This isn’t about anyone’s personal preferences of Coke vs Pepsi. I was in southern Maine last week in the Boothbay Harbor area and found that Pepsi seems to have a virtual monopoly in the area. Every restaurant we saw had the Pepsi logo as well as all the machines at gas stations etc. I’m wondering if this is the same in all of the state or just this area. I’m from Ct. and there is a healthy mix of both brands of cola in this area.
Good thing we carried a supply of Coke with us.
