Moister than a regular Twinkie (I guess the chocolate “robe” holds in moisture) and very delicious.  But not worth $30 to have them shipped to me.  Definitely worth the $2.50.

I was just getting ready to start a post about the return of the Chocodiles when I saw yours and yes I did purchase a box of these little goodies just the other day.  They are not the same size as a Twinkie ( a little shorter) but still tasted pretty dang good.  For $2.50 I thought it was a pretty good deal.  The only place I’ve seen them so far is Walmart. [8D]

The frosting tastes drier or something, to me. Not as good as decades ago.

They did say they’re coming out with a cherry creme (probably limited) edition.

Hostess, as part of their “Summer of Twinkie” limited edition offerings are bringing back Chocodiles, the “chocolate-covered Twinkie” that has reached legendary status among some junk-food aficionados.  Most of the country has not seen them since the 1990s, scattered parts of the West Coast have them off and on.  True “Chocophiles” have been known to pay up to $30 a box to have them shipped east.  Are they worth the hype?  Are these new editions worthy of the Chocodile brand name?  I don’t know yet, but I intend to find out.
