Wanderingjew is 82 Queen’s #1 fan, for sure! When I lived in Charleston, I was also a huge fan of Carolina’s on Exchange St. In a recent post elsewhere, Familydok reminded me of Poogan’s Porch at 72 Queen, which is also quite fabulous (at least it was 20 years ago). Hyman’s on Meeting St. is a mixed bag for some, but it’s always been great for me. Mots of the restaurants in the Old Market used to be great, but now it’s a bit too commercial — but maybe someone will pipe in with an exception. [;)] Chris
Like Cecif, I too was dissapointed when I went to Justine’s over 8 years ago…
No let me re phrase that- I was just underwhelmed and thought it was
"Ok"- nothing special
82 Queen Street is phenominal. One of my favorite roadfood places of al time! [:D]
I can’t rave about Jestine’s (I was a bit disappointed), but I have seen raves of 82 Queen.
Someone just posted a report today too.
And do use the search, Charleston is a hot topic!
Jestine’s Kitchen for sure! [:p][:p]

Dandy, do a forum search; there are probably six or so Charleston threads just in this portion of the forum.
I’m looking for some good southern cooking. nothing that’s a chain, preferably where locals go.
