Ok,I give in pass me a cupcake!
Chris, thanks so much for the shout-out, man! Yeah, I really loved it too. They’ve always nailed it for me. Glad you enjoyed it. If you’re in town again, check out Island Burger too (reviewed here of RF as well). Just make sure to get it medium.
I’d like to thank Billyboy from the bottom of my stomach for reviewing this place. I took my buddy Earlifier there on Saturday after spending the morning at the Javits, and both of us couldn’t believe how good everything was! This is easily one of my top hamburgers on the East coast. Amazingly juicy burger, amazing fries and o-rings to die for, and a supermoist Red Velvet cupcake for dessert…absolute RF heaven. This is exactly the type of place we’ll be talking about forever! [:p] times infinity, Chris
Frankman, the email address you sent that note to, and received that response from, must have belonged to the "other" burgers & cupcakes, the one that closed.
This is the email reply I got this am.
We did have a bacon, egg & cheese cupcake and the "icing" was cream cheese. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed so now we don’t have any cupcakes or burgers. But thanks for your interest.

Upon seeing your breakfast cupcake section of the menu it gave me an idea. How about adding some tiny pieces of bacon or ham to the cupcake batter? Maybe a vanilla cupcake made without the vanilla. Just a plain cake or maybe yellow cake. The pork would offset the sweet, there is already an egg in the batter, and the cake would be the starch. Sounds like breakfast to me.
Just a thought.
I love the burger variety.
Thanks Bruce. I just called the phone number on the review and they said they’re open til 9 pm tonight, so they’re still in business.
I removed the website from the review. It looks like that website went to the old burgers & cupcakes in Chelsea. Apparently, the two are not related.
Just called them. They are open.
I know the location on 23rd Street has closed, but the 9th Avenue one was open as of a few weeks ago. Did the email specify which location?
I just recieved an email from Burgers and Cupcakes saying they are now closed. I was inquiring about the breakfast cupcakes.
Billyboy did a report on the place a while back. Looks like that’s where this review came from.
Come on Lee. Where’s your sense of adventure? Did you check out the website? There are more burgers listed. The king, the clown, and pippi longstocking dont serve salmon, lamb, bison, or fresh tuna burgers. Yep, I would try it for the variety. And those cupcakes look very good too. You’ve got to at least try a place that serves breakfast cupcakes. Never knew there was such a thing.
Ps..I noted they do have some salads and a pizza or two…but the overall idea seems to be to feature these two items..just seems a strange combo to push!
Looking at that home page picture…I guess you KNOW what you’re eating when you go there…lunch already picked out, even dessert!!!
Thought…do any of you go to roadfood places that are THAT specialized…??? Was it worth it? Has anyone been to this place. How special are the hamburgers since that’s all you’ll be ordering? How delicious must those cupcakes be? Hell even fast food places have more than one item type on the menu!!!!Would you make a trip to a place for thid. I mean who wakes up saying,"Hey,you know what I want today? A hamburger followed by a cupcake!"
