The Pleasantville Diner is fine. Have eaten there many times. Be sure to Googlemap the location.
[style=”color: #008000;”]If you’re at all amenable to, alternatively, taking the Merritt Parkway route, the Lakeside Diner (touted http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/tm.aspx?high=&m=23931&mpage=1#531932 here) in Stamford, Connecticut is a worthy outside-of-NYC-stop, FYI.[/style]

Here’s a situation I expect some of you New Yorkers have been in: I’m leaving the city for business tomorrow, bright and early, driving north along the Saw Mill River Parkway, and would love to hit a good diner as soon as I’m sure I’m out of the ugly traffic of NYC. Basically as soon as I can breathe a sigh of relief that that part of my journey is behind me. Townwise, I guess I’m talking about Yonkers, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington, Pleasantville, Chappaqua–ideally just off the Parkway, if possible.
Any suggestions for a good, old school, diner with stick-to-yer-ribs, hearty eats?
Thanks!
