I have come to the conclusion that I am simply not meant to eat them. Got out of work early, got done grocery shopping quickly, so we were in the BK drive-thru at 10:45pm (they close at 1am). NO ONE THERE, other than the four cars in the drive-thru waiting to order. It was weird. Like, weird enough my taxi driver called the police to check on the restaurant in case they’d been robbed. So… still haven’t eaten the triple-damned hot dogs, and it’s possible I never will.
Something really similar happened to me the first time I went in to try one. The restaurant was supposed to close at midnight (Saturday) and the drive through was supposed to close at 1 AM. I got there about 11:40, the doors were locked, and the staff inside just stared at me. And I wasn’t going to be bringing one of those hot dogs into my car (afraid of drippage) so I didn’t have them. As mentioned earlier, I tried them a few days ago. I know that I’m not supposed to compare them to good New York cart hot dogs, or even my local Jersey dogs, but I would expect that they would be at LEAST as good as a 7-11 Big Bite. As I said earlier, they weren’t.

When I first saw the title of this thread, my first thought was http://www.roadfood.com/Restaurant/Overview/6837/bk-carne-asada-hot-dogs BK in Tucson, purveyor of excellent Sonoran hot dogs. Those people are welcome to come to Pittsburgh anytime!
Phew……sigh of relief. I almost had a coronary when I saw you in the fast food/chain section…. Now I know it’s for good reason

I’m ambidextrous!
I’ll try anything once![woot]
I’ve had these before.. the first time was closer to me.. they were very good. Had a nice char on them and a smokey flavor. The second time not as good.
But the third time, I had a bad experience at a location in Pennsylvania. I drove there from New Jersey to pick up a guitar I bought. I had them ship it to FedEx and saved $100 on taxes. So on my way I see a Burger King and decide to stop in.
I ordered one of each. One of the chili cheese dogs and one with mustard, onions, relish. The guy behind the counter seemed to have a little trouble figuring it out. I also ordered a large drink. The price was super cheap.. like $5 for everything or something.
When he handed me my bag, it was very small. I let him know he forgot one of my dogs and it turns out he put in the system one dog with all those topics. I took it anyway, because I had to get to FedEx before they close.
It was disgusting. Chili and relish do not go together. Their chili is smokey and the relish is tangy.
This visit and the previous visit the dogs weren’t charred as nicely as the first time I had them.
The commercial that’s been playing around here features a “vendor” who sells “bland, boiled hot dogs” as his job. Since he’s dressed in yellow and black, does that mean he works at PNC Park and a BK hot dog is a better option than the ones sold there?[}:)]
I had a couple of hot dogs at PNC Park last summer and they were really very good.
Then perhaps he works at Heinz Field or Consol Energy Center.[;)]
He does have a https://www.facebook.com/EddieFursHotDogKing/info/?ref=page_internal Facebook page…
Tried one of each. They were pretty good….but here in our Brick nj location they were $2.39 and $2.69…not $1.99!!!

You seem to be triple-blessed.
Don’t mess with karma.
Probably a good idea. That was the third strike after all. [lol]
I do have to give them props for their training video for the upcoming hot dog rollout. It was done well and made me laugh.
