So true! Good one
……”START with a LARGE one!”
Watching you guys put together these trucks…awesome work. I have owned and run restaurants…I think you should fabricate trucks for other people…risks are much less, and I bet the rewards greater. [8D] My favorite saying….“You want to know how to make a small fortune in the Restaurant Business?”…..
It seems easy to put the generator on a small platform by the rear bumper. Ive also seen some build a dedicated sealed compartment inside of the truck
It seems the enclosed version is neater, it keeps the overall length of the truck reduced, and maybe is more secure.. butr takes more skill and work to build the enclosure for it.
The bumper mount is easier, but might add to the overall length, and is less secure (easier to steal)
Has anyone decided to go a certain way then regretted it, and why?
looks good
I built a front cargo platform on the front of my truck for the generator to sit on. It has a hitch receiver built into the bumper mount plates.
If I build it in and have the base of the box underneath the floor, it still seems no way to avoid cutting into the floor/wall and building a sealed box inside due to the height of the generator.
Maybe you should diy a box,I have read a article about

We build them in, but have what’s called a blimp box that provides venting and sound proofing. If you find a very quiet generator then its easier, just needs to be well ventilated. Also remember never tie the exhaust from the generator into your trucks exhaust, can cause a lot of problems for the gen set. Our venting consists of a thermostat controlled fan system similar to what’s in most cars.

I too am thinking of putting my genny under the truck. honestly doesn’t seem to difficult. from what I hear I just have to make sure it’s well ventilated.
