Second Blue Benn. There used to be a fish fry place in town that was good but closed a few years ago. I don’t know if anything has replaced it. I had a good bacon and egg pannini from Izabella’s on Main along with good coffee. On South just off Main is a good coffee shop with pastries, etc. but haven’t been up there in a couple years and hope they are still there. Madison Brewing’s beer is mostly ok. Decent pubfood.
Grade A dark amber is my usual and remember you can freeze it indefinitely so go ahead and buy a gallon or two.
The Blue Benn is great. It can have a wait at times, because it’s small, depending on the time of the/school year. I’ve had both dinner and breakfast there and can recommend it for either.
Are you looking for a restaurant between Lee and Bennington? Great Barrington, which I’m more familiar with has good choices, but is south of Lee.
Also, my preference in Maple Syrup is to pick a darker grade for a more intense flavor.
End of August I will be staying 1 night in Bennington Vt. Would love everyone’s input on where to eat dinner and breakfast in Bennington. Has anyone been to the Blue Benn Diner? Would also need a lunch place on Rte 7 in Ma. Will be traveling the NYS Thurway to Mass Pike and picking up Rte 7 at Lee Mass going thru Pittsfield to Mount Greylock hopefully catching a clear day so I can drive to the top. Here is another question? Maple syrup. Best Grade for normal breakfast and cooking?
Bennington Vt and Rte 7 in Massachusetts
