Guiness Ice Cream?
I have wondered about beer and Ice Cream since I read Steinbecks Cannery Row, when Doc drinks the Beer Milkshake.
I had this image of Guiness and chocolate Ice cream, mixed in a blender, or as a float. I knew it would be either really good or really nasty, and I have never wanted to waste a Guiness that way, lol!
Another one on the gotta try it list!
Bob is having me stop on the way home to pick some up – [:o)] Sure do hope they have it!
I saw the Black and Tan ice cream yesterday, but instead was drawn to the new sorbet Berried Treasure (link:http://www.benjerry.com/our_products/flavor_details.cfm?product_id=181) instead.
Very good stuff, will be trying the B&T ice cream soon though [:)]
Someplace in the pile of recipes that’s slowly overtaking my living space, I have one for "Guiness" ice cream. I’ve made it once or twice, and it has a nice deep almost bitter chocolate flavor. And, it’s pretty easy to make in the donvier machine that I have.
In their latest newsletter they announce the creation of "Black and Tan" beer flavored ice cream with dark chocolate ripple in it. Here’s the link—http://www.benjerry.com/our_products/flavor_details.cfm?product_id=180
