After entering the tastefully decorated restaurant we were quickly seated and greeted. We browsed the menu and deemed the prices reasonable. We anxiously awaited our "salads". Us ladies ordered the bacon, avacado and crabmeat salad as an appetizer. We got ONE leaf of lettuce, maybe 10 crumbs of bacon and a very small mound of crabmeat. Avacado was fine. When our husbands "Wolfneck Farm Skirt Steak" came we nearly burst out laughing! There was MAYBE 2 ounces of meat and 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes on that dessert plate. I ordered the ravioli and received TWO raviolis and some tomato slices under them. My friend’s fish portion was mediocre at best. We were so absolutely mortified we just didn’t know what to do…….so we licked the plates clean, paid the bill……AND WENT OUT FOR DINNER! [:p]

Now, you see, I’d have handled it a bit differently. I’d have just paid the bill and walked out without touching a damned thing. By the way, welcome to Roadfood. You live in a very beautiful part of America.

Sorry, that’s a sad experience, for you and the restaurant. Luckily, though, you have so many great places to choose from in Portland that the "latest and greatest" doesn’t have to be an option very often.

Sorry to hear about your unfavorable experience at Bar Lola. I live in Portland, but have not visited Bar Lola as yet because its not air conditioned. The chefs have had great experience and recommendations, but really don’t know what happened to this joint… Hopefully it will get better, or it will demise like the two, or three, or four previous restaurants in the same location.
