Sinful. Just sinful!
I bought Food City very thick sliced this morning and it was very very tasty. I only cooked (fried) about four slices and that was enough for me and my ugly dog. I had it with fresh sliced tomatoes out of the garden with some flaky biscuits. Mamaw Smith gave me some freezer jam to go with it. Great breakfast with my fresh coffee.

Just once …
A real bacon experience? Ehhhhh …
Last weekend I was a judge for the New Holland PA Summer Fest BBQ event. My wife had volunteered me because she saw an opportunity to buy her favorite bacon just south of Lancaster. We hadn’t been back to this area for a few years and this was her opportunity. There is a butcher that smokes his own bacon (an other products) and he’s only open on Saturday mornings. His ‘store’ is next to his house on route 222 near the junction of 741. My guess is it would be the town of West Lampeter or Willow Street. She bought 6 pounds!
It may be of intrest to you that I found a retail shop on Rt.#1 north Danvers Ma. that carrys this bacon. I tryed it and really enjoyed it and it’s only about 6 bucks a pound there.
Di Luigis butcher shop just north of the Rt.#114 interchange.
May be worth the stop next time your in the area. Also great Italian sausage there, at least I was impressed with it.
When I purchase bacon from a large supermarket it’s the Carrando brand for me. Chow Jim
There Maple flavored is very good, but the regular Lirkland 3 lb. pack they sell is the only bacon we use on a regular basis..it’s cheaper than anything of that quality!!!
Some of the best bacon I have ever had comes from North Country Smokehouse in Claremont, NH. They have a small store close to the junction of Rte 89 / 91 on the VT/NH border.
I usually get their bacon via mail order…the website is http://www.ncsmokehouse.com
They also have great Montreal style smoked meat (brisket).

Has anyone tried the packages of Hormel pre-cooked bacon? I believe 72 slices up in a ziplock bag and can be purchased at Costco?
Just came across a slightly more exotic way to present your breakfast bacon:Baconhenge!
Here is the website, including pictures: http://www.theanticraft.com/archive/beltane08/baconhenge.htm
Hahaha! I thought it was "Beer, Brats, and Broads!"
The three great "B’s" of life : Butter ,Bacon,Sex and Beer!
How come we all admit to loving fried salted mostly pork fat..and yet complain if there’s too much fat on roast beef???We Americans are prejudiced toward our animal fat!!!!
You go gal!
You can always make a few bacon and ??? quiches and refreeze them.
Smithfields makes a great bacon, but it is seldom on sale over here in PA; I usually have to go with Giant brand (thick sliced) which is very good and very lean.
And when are you having 50 folks for BLT’s? I’ll bring the chips
Since I am a bit of a coupon fanatic, I got a chance to stock up on bacon, 2 weeks ago.
My local Supermarket (A&P) had a sale on Smithfield bacon (it is very good). It was buy 1 get 1 free. So, (2) 1 lb. packages for $4.49.
It happened to be triple coupon week, and I had tons of $.75 coupons.
To make a long story shorter, I have 24 lbs. of bacon in my freezer, which cost me nothing. A good deal.
Now, I need to do something with it! I have 2 teenage sons, so it should go rather quickly. They might even eat it frozen. LOL
I read on some BBQ board that supposedly, bacon has more flavor the less it’s cooked. Sort of makes sense. But Raw or rawish bacon? No Way Soft is fine. Too crispy is tasteless
