My granddaughter is begging me to take her to the “Wapple House”.  She refuses to call it anything else, even though she is 11 years old.  She wants to go and see all of her friends  (the wait staff)  and have lots of sausage!

Gratifying to see you’re raising your Granddaughter properly!

Yes, WH waffles are quite good and made with half & half, but I usually order the eggs & hashbrowns which are always good.  Huddle House is excellent, though, and has a much larger menu.  The old Omelet Shoppe chain was good, but I think all their locations are gone now.

I’ll have you know that’s a real American waffle, not one of those Belgian things. [:D]

By the way, I just got back from the Waffle House. I had my hash browns scattered light and peppered.

I knew Michael went to the Waffle House, I just didn’t know how regular he is. I think they have a side of prunes on the menu………….

As long as the grill is hot enough to kill e-coli and salmonella, I’m ok with WH.

Michael, I didn’t know they had a jalapeno-cheddar biscuit.  Sounds good, but did they grill it, too?

They butter it and put the halves on the flattop to warm. It’s really a better biscuit than their standard ones. I’ll sometimes get one just to eat with some butter and honey.

I have been to several Waffle Houses, primarily in the Southeast.  I am not a fan of their waffles. but I really like their hash browns, which seem to have become a focal point of their menu.
As an FYI, there is also “Huddle House”, which is a spin-off of Waffle House.  The Huddle House locations do seem cleaner, and I like their food a notch better than WH.  The breakfast menus are very similar, and I like the hash browns there, too.

There are not as many Huddle Houses as WH’s, and they are in 19 states, primariy in the southeast with some exceptions.
For those of you with cleanliness issues with WH, you might want to give Huddle House a try.  They at least “seem” cleaner, as a whole.

I’d hate to see the health reports of some of the Roadfood joints I’ve been to!

Never have tried the waffles.  Does anyone order waffles at the WH?

My Bride likes the Pecan Waffle, done crispy. You can also get Apple Cinnamon Oat, Chocolate Chips, Blueberry or Strawberry
