Hi pupschool, I think they just want to make sure the thread doesn’t degenerate or morph into an anti-Ahnuld tirade that would cause partisan politics to rear its ugly head…
I guess political depends on who is discussing it.
I agree, where do politics come into it when asking a simple questions.
Im confused. Why would I talk about politics? I just wanna talk about selling dogs and how easy/hard it’s been in California with it’s strict codes and regulations. If I’m considering opening a cart, I’d like to know what others have faced to get to where they are.
Where do politics come into this????
pupschool all those questions are for your food safety instructor. Speak to who ever you took your class with they should be able to help you with all of your questions.
we once had an org. with this purpose in mind and had several members from, ca, I’m sure one of them will PM you. In depth discussion of regulations are frowned on by some here, as it tends to become political.
Would love to make some connections with CA hot dog vendors, so we can share trials and tribulations all under the CALcode!
I would love to know what is frowned on in Cali, since I am opening a cart here. Whats the word on condiments?
Quick Dog is in CA
I don’t how discussing regulations is political. I f I lived in California, I would gladly discuss it with you.
regulation is a big part of our business and it is permissible to as questions about them, just don’t let it become political.
In depth discussions that turn political are against the forum rules pupschool, thats why many members are against it including our mods. Using the PM once contact is made is very permissable and everyone is happy. Good luck and welcome. DD
If it’s possible in California, I should present these questions in this way to the HD???
How can I serve tomatoes as a condiment?
How can I serve chopped onions?
How can I serve any other freshly chopped veggies?
How can I sell pre-made sandwiches?
How can I sell paninni’s from a cart?
How can I sell fruit?
and so on….
My hubby and I wanted to be in the hotdog business too. Can’t depend too much on our employers… [:I]
We were checking the prices of the CalCode carts and they are very expensive. Is there a place where we can buy the cart that is calcode but without the price of a right kidney and a lobe of my own liver?
Keep me updated.
BTW, Gotti, I would like to see your cart too and buy some hotdogs [8D]
Just browsing for knowledge when I came across Calhotdogs post…
“Whoohoo! I have no idea what I’m doing, but I cant wait!”
Aw man that had me cracking up! [lol] What a good attitude – ESPECIALLY in the context of dealing with difficult regulations. GOOD FOR YOU CAL!!!
My wife and I hit the street 2 months ago with our Indian food cart here in Asheville and that’s exactly how I felt – that is, right until the night before our first day!! Then it was more like “Oh crap, we’re really doing this!”
I really enjoy it though and I’m sure you will too.
