I just got that cookbook a few weeks ago! I made the Kentucky Squash Caserole on pg. 121. I used fresh squash, added cooked chicken breast and omitted the water chestnuts. It turned out pretty good.
Next I want to try some of the soups and cakes when the weather cools.
I bet the cooking instructions involve tin foil, a hot manifold, and driving eighty miles at 75 mph[:D]
I would love to know how the world famous meatloaf is made!
I have been reading TRUCK STOP COOKBOOK……good eats from the road and it is a fun book for finding about some great truck stops! There are lots of recipes, too. Some sound downright horrid but there are a few that I intend to try. If you want some quantity recipes how about "World Famous Detroiter Truck Stops World Famous Meatloaf"….lol. There is a recipe called "Lulu’s Million dollar Cake".and it is identical to what I call "Black Magic Cake". There is a "Salad in the Pink" that I know just know that the Sterns would love. So if any of you want any truck stop recipes, feel free to let me know. In the meantime, I will enjoy reading a really interesting book.
