And you’ll both be missed!
Marlene and I will be arriving Thursday night and will be at the hotel by about 7pm. We are looking for a dinner place and dinner mates..anything going on? Any suggestions?
Thx. JonB
Updated 10-day forecast looks perfect…mid 80’s for highs, 60 for nights!
I do have the time, but I don’t have the coin.
I would be happy to join up to share food with someone. I know that appetite is a precious, scarce resource on these tours.
Marlene and I will be there. We are looking forward to re-meeting all the cool peeps we met on Buffalo tour !!
If anyone is thinking about Thursday night dinner plans let me know…we are getting in about 6:15pm and will be hungry 🙂

Do you want that with red or green?? Or Christmas???
The bolo tie!! P.S. Supposedly the bolo toe was invented in Wickenburg AZ. I saw a wonderful collection at the Los Caballeros Museum in Wickie.

I have no money and no vacation time!
As ticket sales increase…who else is in?
Ellen…did you decide?
How about Carolina Bob?
Perhaps I’ll start with Sour Cream Raisin, add in Blueberry-Apricot for the fruit serving of the day and raise you a Spicy Walnut Raisin…I beleive one must be open minded when it comes to pie!
With regard to physical preparation or training as some folks like to call it…I say Steven summed it up pretty good except he left out a few key words…
#1 – This would involve passing up a meal which means wasting food and a subsequent increase in ticket prices to offset trash removal and recycling.
#2 – Agreed – always order each food group in batches of 13. It can be a very lucky number!
#3 – Should be double not half as there are always folks nearby to assist….just a small typo.
#4 – I am unfamilar with unnecessary meals. I have always assumed all meals are necessary to sustain life as we know it.
Ten -day forcast is looking might bright…
I’m going just to keep an eye on ChiTownDiner. Once he gets his first taste of a green chile cheeseburger…..
buffetbuster – I appreciate your looking out for a rookie! Thanks for the watchful eye…
The website for the NM State Fair says nothing about food…anyone know anything about the food there? Im from Texas..last year we had “Deep Fried Butter” !!
We wrote a Roadfood Digest post about the 2008 NM State Fair. The 2010 fair probably isn’t too different.

Been doing a little research on where to find the best pie in Albuquerque and one name that gets consistently good reviews is Asbury Cafe at the New Mexico State Fair.

Looks like I know where my first stop at the state fair will be!
We just got a couple of surprises confirmed. I can assure you this will be another unforgettable trip.
Stephen, after last year, we know you mean business when you say this. I can’t wait!
OK, I am seriously thinking about making the trek to NM. My trajectory will be parallel to the trip but not tamp down INNIT. Are drop ins welcome? What I mean is if I’m going to Santa Fe to visit a friend, would we be able to hook up at certain points & join in on the Roadfood festivities?
