Wiener World

Wiener World in Pittsburgh, PA | What to eat

Local frankfurter aficionados swear by The Original Hot Dog Shop out Forbes Ave. in Oakland. We love seven-inch dogs at The Big O as much as anyone, especially at 2 AM. But during normal lunch hour downtown there is another dog house we like a lot, as much for its breezy, street-smart attitude as for its selection of regular hot dogs, all-beef hot dogs, and firm-bodied kielbasas.

One of any of these tube steaks with all the fixins and an order of fries (with cheese or gravy) makes an excellent snack; and for a more substantial meal, we recommend the fish sandwich. It is immense, and it is available with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. And with good fries on the side.

There are sparse counter-accommodations inside, but many customers prefer getting their food at the al fresco order window and dining on the sidewalk. Dandy street food!
