Tognazzini’s Dockside Too

Worth driving from anywhere!

When it comes to prime real estate, Tognazinni’s Dockside Too in Morro Bay, California cannot be beat. The casual, outdoor dining spot has a perfect view of the majestic Morro Rock. There is no bad seat in the house, whether you want to enjoy a view of the rock or take a peek down at the water to watch sea lions fish around the boats in the marina.

The only thing better than the view is the food. The menu is packed with fish and seafood options of nearly every preparation and style. Get started with a few oysters. There is nothing quite like enjoying them straight from California’s Coast. Choose freshly shucked Oysters in a Half Shell for a burst of flavor from the sea or grab BBQ Oysters to add little smoky flavor to the gently cooked version.

Prepare to be wowed by the Smoked Scallop Wrap. It arrives as an eye-catching display of color on a plate with a huge tortilla wrap stuffed with greens, shredded carrots, diced red onions and fresh tomatoes, and cheese that complement an abundance of sweet, smoky Bay scallops.

You have a choice of eight different fish and seafood tacos. The classic Fried Fish Taco arrives with a plump piece of battered and fried white fish under lightly dressed slaw. The Smoked Shrimp Taco has the same tangy slaw. Much like the Smoked Scallop Wrap, it has a pleasant marrying of sweet, smoky, and tangy in each bite. The Fusion Fish Taco is full of flaky white fish grilled with spices and a pungent marinade for a welcomed, unexpected twist to a plain old grilled fish taco.

Salads and chowder can also be found on the menu along with smoked chicken and tri-tip if any in your party wish to skip fish and seafood. The restaurant offers local beers on tap and in bottles along with a selection of wine and sodas.

When on the search for this place, keep in mind that Tognazzini’s has two locations. Dockside Too sits closer to the water just behind the less casual Tognazzini’s Dockside. The restaurant has a spacious outdoor patio that is especially dog-friendly. You’ll find leashes attached to built-in benches to help keep pets in place while you enjoy your meal.
