Tito’s Tacos

Review by: Marlene Steinberg

The only thing better than a Tito’s Taco… is two. The slogan says it all. There is always a line at Tito’s and the tables are usually full. The majority of those in line are taking their order to go. It’s worth the wait!

I’ve been eating Tito’s Tacos for at least 45 years. It’s my comfort food and I continue to eat my two tacos and a bean and cheese burrito at least three times a month. Tito’s is pure Californian Mexican food: crispy, fried tacos filled with mixed meat and lettuce. If you want cheese, it’s extra. I happen to LOVE them without the cheese.

What makes these tacos so good is Tito’s fresh red salsa. It’s not spicy at all, just delicious. If you want a little kick in your food ask for some of the green salsa, which is diced, pickled jalapeno peppers. It’s all about the combination of flavors.

The standard burritos at Tito’s are meat and bean but you can order them all meat or just bean and cheese. They also sell cheese enchiladas, beef and chicken tamales, tostadas, and chili beans. The sides include refried beans, rice, and guacamole like nowhere else.

Tito’s food is all their own. You won’t find the same taste in any other Mexican restaurant. The first stop when picking anyone up from LAX is Tito’s Tacos. It’s what those who have moved away miss most.

I went to Tito Taco today. I have been going there since I moved to the area in 1975. During the pendemic I really stopped eating out a lot. I was in the area and decided to get food. Usually in the past I would buy dozen tacos and then beef burrito. Today I was surprised when I saw the price. I am now retired and I cannot afford this any more. I know everyone had increased their prices but it seems like more than doubled. I enjoyed the food but sorry to say it is too expensive for me living on focus security. I don’t think I can frequent this place any more..I have to do this with all the places I use to . Thank you gir the good food over the past years.
