Po Boys Creole & Fresh Catch
Review by: Roadfood Team
You’d never believe that sandwiched between a Dollar General and a Mexican grocery store there would be a restaurant with such good-tasting Creole food and fresh seafood, but that’s what makes Po Boys Creole & Fresh Catch a Roadfood stop.
Po Boys Creole & Fresh Catch restaurant is a hidden gem located on Route 16 in Milford, Delaware, just a few minutes west of coastal Route 1. You’d never believe that sandwiched between a Dollar General and a Mexican grocery store there would be a restaurant with such good-tasting Creole food and fresh seafood, but that’s what makes it a Roadfood stop. We have so far dined twice at Po’ Boys and practically licked our plates clean, having eaten enough that we were fit to burst.
What to eat at Po Boys Creole & Fresh Catch
The crawfish bisque is laden with chunks of meat throughout the creamy broth. The signature blackened scallops with pan-flashed spinach and lemon caper butter are rich and moist, cooked just right. The shrimp Creole is served in a flavorful tomato butter sauce, with creamy grits. Make sure you save room for dessert because their Mississippi mud pie is made with a homemade pecan shortbread crust and dusted with cocoa powder, and the buttermilk pie sounds equally delicious.
This is a great stop on route to the beach or when you’re heading back home but don’t want to get there just yet!
