G’s Juice

Review by: Dale Fine

A short distance from Dockweiler State Beach near the northern fringes of sprawling Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) you’ll find two restaurants in one. The front door opens into the two-decades-old Senior G’s Mexican Restaurant; turn immediately to your right to find the entrance to their newer juice bar. Since 2006, G’s Juice offers fresh vegetable and fruit juices, frozen yogurt, and, of course, fruit smoothies.

Unlike many of the Southern California smoothie chains, the smoothies at G’s Juice are no-nonsense and straightforward, blending seasonal fruit with non-fat milk and yogurt. The Berry Good smoothie combines fresh blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and cranberry juice into a thick, thirst quenching, tart and sweet fruity explosion.

You can sit inside or at one of the outdoor tables, or enjoy it “to go”: the perfect, refreshing pick-me-up on the way to a day at the beach.
