Gabby’s Burgers & Fries

Review by: Roadfood Team

In searching for the best burger in the Nashville, TN area, I had several people suggest that I MUST try Gabby’s Burgers & Fries. With so many overwhelming suggestions I knew I had to investigate. Located right across the railroad tracks from the Nashville Sounds baseball stadium, Gabby’s is the place to be. Each time I went, the parking lot was full and there was always a line.

The place is small, but upon walking in the door you are greeted like your name is “Norm” and you are returning to “Cheers”. The staff welcomes everyone in the door the same and it doesn’t matter if they know you or you are a new face in the crowd. The greeting is always friendly and you just never know what Doug the owner will say. This is not some fancy pants place that their menu is 10 pages long. Here at Gabby’s burgers & fries are the name of the game and that is what 99% of the people are ordering.

What should I eat at Gabby’s Burger & Fries?

The menu items are named after the owner’s kids Seamus (Shay-mus) and Gabriella plus his wife Corrine. The Seamus burger is a 5oz grass fed beef burger with your choice of cheese and toppings served on a fresh baked bun. The Gabby burger is 2 x 5oz grass fed beef patties with choice of cheese and toppings served on a fresh baked bun. The Corrine is a veggie burger, with choice of cheese and toppings. The meal is completed with fresh hand cut fries or fresh cut sweet potato fries, fried to perfection. The milk shakes are created with house made syrups and are thick and delicious.

You can get your burger the way listed or you can throw the kitchen sink at it, with additions of peanut butter to fried egg to grilled onions and many more options. The service is quick, so if there is a line don’t worry. Your food will be created quickly and served fresh and hot. There is no cooking everything ahead of time and letting it set here: no, it is FRESH HOT OFF THE GRILL.

Gabby’s Burger & Fries is only open for lunch hours Monday through Thursday and Saturday, staying open later for dinner on Fridays. They are closed on Sundays so that Doug can spend some time with his wife and kids. I will be back as often as I can and each time I walk through the door, I look forward to the crew welcoming me back.
