Just for you, Dale. [:D] [}:)] I’m curious what “regionally inappropriate” places people like. My favorite is Sonny’s Famous Steak Hogies in Hollywood, FL. Yes, they spell Hoagies as “Hogies”. The cheesesteaks there are on par with the best of them in the Philly area, in my experience. Sonny’s was started by a Philadelphia baker who moved to south FL. They make their own rolls every day, and that is a huge factor in a great cheesesteak. They slice/shave their own ribeye every day. You can get the usual on it … fried onions, a cheese sauce (“Whiz”), white American, etc. For you homesick Philadelphians, they even sell TastyKakes. Sorry, no Scrapple. They’ve been around since the late 1950s in the same location. This is Janet’s favorite cheesesteak place (and she’s been to many, as have I). I put it on par with the best of the Philly area such as Mama’s in Bala Cynwyd.
