I am finally in the final build stage of my truck and I am having an issue, I don’t expect you all to give me a solution i know you all have your own things to do – but maybe you could provide me some info, feedback or opinions on this.
I live outside the USA and local code says that no gas tanks can be placed on the back or front of the tuck. So no read mounting. My local gas install guy who is certified says I can put horizantal tanks on the roof and if properly mounted and blocked by direct sunlight they will be fine. My truck has a intricate roof rack system with security so they dont hit an overpass or something.
However, a friend who works in restaurant installation says I should not install it on the roof, not because of a risk of it hitting something but because he was told propane should not be installed above the appliances level due to something with density.
I know nothing about LP and am curious if anyone can weigh in on putting it on the roof or ideas as to where. My truck doesnt have any real space under neath and back and front are no goes.
