Day 5 is here and it was pretty good. Did $145.00. Don’t know if people have more money on fridays or eat out more. Probably both.
To recap, the totals were $45.50-$21.00-$74.50-$78.50-$145.00. My dad always said, “you can’t learn to ride a bicycle from a book”.
That’s sure true in the food business. I started out a rookie and ended the week as a rookie with 5 days practice under my belt.
At the end of the day, I sold the last polish to my last customer. I had 4 regular dogs left, not cooked actually all I had on the cart. I had about two spoonfuls of chopped onions left Pretty lucky, I didn’t miss one sale.
1. My biggest surprise.
How well I was accepted by the community.
2. My biggest disappointment.
The two times customers came and I didn’t have
what they wanted ready.
3. My biggest problem.
Fumbling with money.
4. My biggest source of pride.
Feeling like a professional out there largely due to the info
and help I’ve gotten from this site.
5. My biggest regret.
I got none baby, it was a blast.
I’ve tried to give an honest account of one person’s hot dog cart start up in business. Hope it helps other rookies out there get a feel for it. Also hope others share their start up.
So long
Jerry
