Just got home from an absolute whirlwind day! Started this morning at my town’s police department getting the form filled out for Massachusetts’ peddler permit (which, it turns out, I don’t actually need in the town I’ll be doing business in, but I’m going to apply for anyway since it doesn’t hurt to have it and only costs $62). Then drove out to Westminster (an hour’s drive) to sign my lease with my new landlord. Then I came back and met with the local store manager where I’m going to be setting up (unfortunately he wasn’t actually there today, but I got to go around the site with a little more detail now that I had a signed lease). Then I went to town hall to start the paperwork for the licenses I need (which is when I found out that I don’t need the Massachusetts peddler permit because the town of Shelburne has their own “lunch cart” permit that they issue instead). Then I went down to meet with a perspective supplier. And now, 9 hours after leaving the house this morning, I’m home, exhausted, and happy as a pig in poop (hey… I think I just thought up a name for my beans and franks lunch special!)
Anyway – it’s official! I (finally) found a spot, I’ve got the ball rolling on the permits, and it looks like I should be able to open in the 2nd or 3rd week of April! Woohoo!
