Actually, the ice cream shop is in Port Isabel, right before you cross the bridge to the Island.
This is a true gem. There is a soft-serve cone looking building on the south side of the road as you are driving to the island. It is the typical looking tourist ice cream shop. But it isn’t/
This is a small batch ‘home-made’ ice cream that is really good. The owner also has a store in Brownsville. I have tried the blueberry cheesecake, butter pecan, strawberry, and chocolate. All have been very good.
The small is $1.75 and is two scoops in either a cup or cone. A waffle cone is available for 50cents more. This is a nice creamy tasty treat. Particularly after a day at the beach.
They also have mango, coconut, caramel banana, creme de menthe, and I cant rememeber the others.
I hope you have a chance to visit the south tip of texas. (the grapfruit is wonderful during the winter)
