California does indeed have a ban on smoking in all public places. Having lived there for several years after the ban was instituted I can say without any hesitation that it didn’t hurt any business. As a matter of fact, restaurant business increased quite a bit.
The same thing holds true here in New Mexico. Albuquerque and Santa Fe have smoking bans in restaurants, and nobody has complained, and business has NOT been hurt.
I am very allergic to smoke and so is my friend. We really welcome walking into a restaurant and not smelling smoke. Other states that have smoking-non smoking sections all seem to put the smoking section closest to the entrance so that you have to walk through it to get to the non-smoking area. GO FIGURE!![?][?][?]
