I think this gets repealed when the IRS has to examine the unfathomable amount of additional data they’ve added.
Anyway, quick question: So, if I am an independent contractor, do I send a 1099 to my grocery store? or only to businesses where I spent more than $600 for use of material, etc that directly impacted my independent contract work? Or do I only do this if I’m an incorporated business?
Do non-profits fill this out if they paid for services to another non-profit organization? (Non-profits, of course, do fill out 1099s to independent contractors).
what a freaking nightmare! It sort of makes a company want to limit their # of vendors if the savings is negated by tax-time troubles.
