Having been to Santa Fe, I have to say it is one of the most expensive cities across this country.  The accomodations and some of the good restaurants  are very pricey.  In addition, many people (including me) had a sudden case of altitude sickness when you first get there.  Initially, you don’t know what it is, but a list of symptoms soon confirm the diagnosis.  Not fun for a day or two, and makes breathing difficult.  So… for a short duration, I wouldn’t recommend Santa Fe.  It sure is pretty and interesting though. 

Albuquerque is less expensive…. but during festival times in Santa Fe…. be prepared to pay beaucoup bucks.
