Last night I went out with friends. Where did we eat??? IHOP.
Can’t say the meal was bad because I enjoyed my Denver Omelet and pancakes but I was really in the mood for a steak!
mar52, IHOP used to be pretty good, but at least at the location in Cary, they no longer preheat the thick ceramic plates. They are a heat sink, and who likes cold eggs? Also I did order the T-bone steak and eggs one time, and the steak was thin, and could not be cooked with any browning/fond without overcooking. You are lucky that you ignored your steak craving, and glad your Denver omelet and pancakes were enjoyable. I hope they were hot.
I finally got my dishwasher back after almost a month. Sweet baby Jesus! Thank you! If I had known before 4:00 PM I would have made the enchiladas I’ve been craving, but that would have required making the tortillas from masa harina by hand earlier. As it was I made what I had anticipated when the plan was to wash all dishes by hand. Egg noodles and ground beef cooked with onions and simply seasoned. It was as good as I remembered it from 50 years ago when my mom used to make it for us kids, and the first time I’ve had it since then.
I was also able to make lemon tahini dressing on short notice which creates a fair amount of extra dishes to serve on a green leaf lettuce, grape tomato and sliced green bell pepper salad.
