Jman’s correct. The peas in the picture are purple hull peas. Field peas are a deeper brown and usually don’t have an eye. All of them are extremely yummy, when prepared the right way. My grandmother served us all of them, at one time or another, but purple hull are my favourites. Looks like I’ve got a reason to stop in Montgomery next time I’m in that area.
