Soccer is actually one of the few team sports I enjoy watching.  I think it is because I played soccer — not well, but I did play it — when I was in junior high and high school.   As a female, long before Title 9, that was about it for me as far as team sports were concerned.  I find that I can’t get “into” sports like football, because I have no frame of reference for them.
 
As far as the horns are concerned, they sound to me just like those plastic horns you used to be able to buy (or win) at the County Fair or amusement parks.
