Six years ago when we lived in McLean, VA we dined at the Texas Roadhouse in Chantilly several times and enjoyed good meals for the price.
We have a Texas Roadhouse a mile or so from where we now live in McKinney, TX and I regret to have to say about it what we have observed about all DFW locations of restaurants we enjoyed “back East”. These include TGI Friday’s, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Carraba’s, Hooters, and TRH:
1) They are so damn noisy that I cannot enjoy a coherent conversation with my wife.
2) The corporate chef’s recipes are ignored by the local cooks who seem always to add too much salt and spice. As a fireeater I’m not talking “picante”; here I mean overwhelming sugar, garlic, basil, oregano, tarragon, fennel, etc.
Unfortunately, our local TRH is absolutely vile on both counts. We called it “out” after only two strikes.
