Does running spotlight for the tour about 12 years ago where his band played and they ran a video of him performing count?
In the early 70’s, I was dating a girl that was a big Elvis fan. When he played Madison Square Garden, she got us tickets. This was his period of big band, platoon of back-up singers & white jump suits. While he was in fine voice & still had all the moves, I remember it less as a concert & more as some sort of cult religious ceremony. He must have thrown at least 3 dozen red scarves out to the audience.
I think one of those “tribute” shows was on PBS a few years back…IIRC it might’ve been recorded in 2002 to mark the 25th anniversary of his death. I watched part of it and “cult religious ceremony” isn’t a bad description of what it was like. Kind of creeped me out a little bit.
