Frankly, the only ‘pink slime burger’ I’ve ever seen is in the burger meat they use in school lunches; it has the texture and consistency of veggie-burger.[xx(]
As we have a Whole Foods only 2 miles from our home, my wife has their butcher grind it on the spot from chuck and sirloin. Oddly enough, as there is no waste, it’s no more expensive than buying ‘too much’ from, say, Wal-Mart.
BTW: another way we get better quality for less with zero waste is having them custom cut bacon.[:p]
