Nancy, Re: Tortes… I’m sure that there are 1002 ways to make them, But My WI. Granny used Whipped cream cheese, sour cream and fresh whipped cream with just a bit of gelatin in it (JELLO if making a fruit flavored) So it was super light and fluffy.  My WI Great Auntie used canned pie filling, gelatin, and DREAM-WHIP!  [:0]  she always had quite a bit left over after our Potlucks…Go figure.
