The Travelin Man
I never, ever go to NYC without making a stop at Zabar’s. Get the ingredients for a picnic lunch. You’ll have all of Central Park to yourselves today.
Central Park is delightful when the weather is right. I cannot imagine that today is that day.
Assuming you’ve never done it, a great “date” place, while not at all Roadfood, is at the top of the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. It is called “The View” lounge, and it provides, as you might expect, a spectacular rotating view of the Island. It is a nice place to grab a drink – not too pricey by New York City standards and then to dine elsewhere. Times Square, itself, is not the hub of Roadfood activity unless you want to go to the long-touted on this site Bubba Gump’s. But, you are a short subway ride from any of the other delights of the city with easy access to the subway lines in Times Square.
