Garylillis mentioned Iowa I-80 exit 225; about an hour west at exit 159 is an
“adult superstore” that was either a Nickerson Farms or Stuckey’s way back when.  I’m remembering that architecturally the 2 buildings were fairly similar but can someone confirm or deny, please?
 
I don’t know when the restaurant closed but I do remember seeing the abandoned building for many years.  My first trip to Des Moines was in August, 1981 and I can’t remember if it (the restaurant, not Des Moines[;)]) was still in operation or not.
