My pet peeve for wasting money  is  children’s birthday parties.  Most parents in our area   go to these public  places  and  spend  15.00 per kid   for  two hours  of  playing at something,  hurrying to eat some cake  and a beverage and  then  out of there………………..too  structured!  Also,  the minimun gift seems to  be  $25.00 gift……………what a waste.  Half the gifts are junk  and tossed aside within a day or two.  I am old so that I can remember when a book  or  a coloring book and crayons was a wonderful gift.

We were in a private home and  wa ched  the  guest of  honor  open  gifts  and  played games  like “Pin the tail on the Donkey  and  “Musical  Chairs…………….what fun!
