Just south of Williamstown at the intersection of US 7 and US 2 (across the street from Lindley Park) is the “A Bakery” in a little A-frame with the frame painted purple and several big concrete cubes out front also painted purple.  This fairly new (opened in October 2009) bakery makes the most delicious small-batch-from-scratch pastries, muffins, and cakes I’ve tasted since Greyston Bakery in Yonkers NY stopped making them.  If you are anywhere in the area, it’s worth the trip to fetch some.  Take-out only, they do special orders, and they do offer excellent fair-trade coffee as well.
