Ok, this chicken isn’t fried, but if you are lucky they will have some when you stop in. I always get the special for the day, but I am sure they always have fried chicken.

Its from the Summerton Diner right off I-95 in Summerton, SC. I really love that place. Its the one I recommend for you above others off I-95 in SC for its quality and closeness to the exit.

Otherwise Hartsville has a Yogi Bear Honey Fried Chicken that everyone here says is the best, but I can’t give you my own recommendation yet. Ruths Drive in in Hartsville, has pimento cheesburgers as well, which were shortlisted as best in the state in a magazine. I have only had one smoothered in gravy. Hartsville may be further off than you want to drive.

In Florence, SC my favorite is Apple Annies. They make their own pimento cheese for their burgers, and get the home chips if you stop in:
