Hi Blue Heaven. Here’s a quick summary of some of the best Naples choices. My personal opinions of course.
Best pizza: Aurelio’s on US 41 just north of downtown. 2 other good pizza choices: Mamma Mia’s & Gatsby’s
Best hamburger: Cruisers in N Naples at 41 & 99th St. Steak & Shake is also available on Pine Ridge Rd at Airport Rd
Best authentic Cuban food: Fernandez the Bull in 2 locations, on lower Airport Rd south of Davis Bvd and the north end of Airport Rd in a new strip mall across from Sam’s Club.
Best seafood: Randy’s Fish Mart in N Naples at 41 & 104th St, next door to an Office Depot. Outstanding grouper and everything else Florida offers by way of seafood. All fresh daily but I think a tad pricey for a plain/simple old fish house. The Dock is also good for on the water atmosphere and above average seafood.
Best neat little bistro find (chef owned) for upscale Continental: Cafe Figaro on US 41 North at Wiggins Pass Rd behind the Walgreen’s.
Best restaurant if you want really great Italian food w/ excellent service and price is not an object: Ciao’s just off 5th Ave in downtown Naples
This ought to get you started. Just bear in mind that it is high season down here in South Florida. At this time of the year everything will be crowded. Expect considerable waits at peak dining hours and virtually no one takes reservations because they just don’t have to be accomodating w/ all the snow birds and spring breakers flooding into Florida right now (temperature today 82 degrees in Naples).
Have fun and great eating! Let me and the rest of the RFers know of your experience(s) and also any great finds you come up with! [:p][:p]
