The Travelin Man
That’s actually not true. It is a well-known fact that after they were rescued from the island, MaryAnn set up a chain of southern cooking restaurants. She would sell trinkets in the lobby of the restaurant while people were waiting for a table. They were going to make a spin-off series, where MaryAnn would have all of these wacky adventures – but at a different location each week – people complaining about whether “real” maple syrup was being served with their pancakes, others arguing whether or not the portion sizes have gotten smaller over time, and they even had one episode where someone came in to apply for a job – and, get this, they were gay! Ha! Hilarity ensues. Viewers, of course, would never be able to tell the difference, because all of the locations were the same. They would just start each episode with one of those cartoon-y maps.
Fortunately, Sherwood Schwartz came to his senses and realized that no one could relate to that kind of far-fetched tale.
