pub 199 is a good suggestion, have not been to Alices but hear good things. you can try resvoir tavern in boonton great pizza and italian food. I think it kinda fits  a roadfood joint. its closer to highways 287 80 24 might be quicker to get to. just go after lunch crowd leaves it turns into a local bar. you can sit there until dinner crowd 5 or 6 before they will want the  table. i would suggest ording a pizza then an app and sharing all thru the afternoon
