Here is a quick way to make Kraft boxed macaroni and cheese dinner a little more “homemade”. You need to use the stuff with the pouch of cheez whiz, not the powdered kind.
Trent’s easy “baked” mac n’ cheese
Prepare macaroni and drain 2 minutes shy of what is said on the box. In the (non stick) pot you cooked the macaroni, add 3/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and cook over medium high heat until cheese is slightly burnt and bubbly. Add macaroni, 1/4 cup of milk, cheese packet and stir over med-low heat scraping up the burnt cheddar. Voila! Baked macaroni n’ cheese taste in just 15 minutes.
I stumbled on this trick when I accidentaly left the burner on after making Kraft Deluxe Mac n’ Cheese and I scorched the bottom a little. My family actually liked it. It was a little dry and the macaroni was a little over done so I adjusted the cooking time added real cheddar and some milk to make it creamy.
Enjoy!
