Hello,
I’m very new to the dog scene and had some questions about commissaries. How often are you going to your commissary? Every day? I’m under the assumption that I store all my product at the commissary. Is this the case or do you store certain items/condiments at your home? How about keeping a deep freezer full of product at your home? Is this legal or does all product need to be held at your chosen commissary? This is what I had envisioned:
Arrive at commissary at 9 a.m. every day to prep, pick up food and head to our location afterwards.
Arrive back at commissary after business hours (maybe 7 p.m) to wash dishes, store food back in fridge, etc..
Is this pretty accurate? What is an average rental price for commissary space?
Hello and welcome to the forum. You can expect to be at your commissary at least twice everyday. From the times on your scenario it looks like you’re planning to be open for lunch and dinner. Unless you plan on having another person to help you can plan on being tired everyday but you’ll get used to it, its part of the business. You obviously want to make sure whatever commissary you do use will be open the hours you need for it to be. I’m able to keep most dry goods at home. All cold foods must be stored at the commissary (no freezers at home). Rent seems to be different in certain areas so maybe someone near where you live you can answer that one. Good Luck DD
