Hot Dog Empire
I make a trip to the restaurant depot once a month, $2-$250. Another $25/week at the local mom/pop store for fresh produce. Family of 4, but kids are always having friends over and they stay for dinner. We eat lots of boneless skinless chicken, legs, pork loin, some steaks, fajita’s, some seafood. Whatever is on sale.
$25-$30 week for wine/cheeses.
Sometimes I run 2 freezers in the cellar, depending on the sales at the time. When boneless/skinless chicken breast’s hit $1.19 on sale, ill stock up with 60-80 lbs. Then I may not buy it again for 3 months because of the price. I usually have strawberry’s right through till spring, but I had a hard time getting a good price on them last summer so I didnt stock up.
We dont eat out much, maybe once every 2-3 months. Just too expensive as a family to be a habit. Id rather take that $100 and throw it in the vacation jar. Thats something we can enjoy for 8-10 days as a family, not an hour at a restaraunt – before nature takes its course.
