Thanks Mike! I’m impressed you have only been going since July. You seem wise and well-established already. That’s a good amount of savings you are making from bulk buying. I have just registered with a food service co. with the same aims in  mind. The only thing is that I don’t really spend that much apart from on meat and buns and wholesalers cannot provide the same products to me.

My operation is a little unorthodox in that it is very hard for me to stock stuff at home. I live on the top 3 floors and my fridge freezer cannot hold very much meat as well as our family food. I have a lock-up a block behind my location where I keep my cart and also need to park my car. I can’t really keep much there at present although I had thought of building some shelves half-way up the wall, a little like you suggested.

My baker has offered to store my meat in his shop, which I’m sure will be very useful if things get busier.

I hear you about forcing myself into a routine, but I do tend to want to just kick back and relax as soon as I can. As it is I only get to see my kids for a short-time before they go to bed. I guess there is really no alternative I just have to actually believe that the more organised I become the more time I’ll  actually have.

I will certainly begin to try to sell more drinks, the problem is that I sell them really cheap anyway – 50p all the shops around sell them for 60-80p. I thought people would be attracted to them automatically.

I still feel a little like I’d seem too pushy by mentioning the drinks and chips, but I know it makes sense.

How are your soda and chip prices compared to grocery stores?
